New Season of Change! 02/26/2010

The OWJBR season about to be under way! As spring time rolls in family fun and rodeo is in the air. We here at the OWJBR want to let all of you past and future contestants know that we are changing a few things up this year.

After years of watching rodeo, especially rough stock events, pass many  contestants by merely because they were not ready to graduate up to the next level, we have decided to extend our age groups and adjust stock selection for a more rider friendly rough stock event. It is our desire to see all of the young folks have every opportunity to excel and be successful in the sport they love.

We will be adjusting events as follows,  6 and Under Sheep, 8 and Under Jr. Calves, 10 and Under Sr. Calves, 12 and Under Jr. Steers, 14 and Under Sr. Steers, 16 and Under Jr. Bulls, and 21 and Under Open Bulls. We believe this formula will give our contestants the absolute best opportunity to compete at their very highest level possible. It will also prove to be a very good training ground for life in the sport at the next level!

We are also in the process of adjusting our sock level to better match the age groups and size of the contestants. Will it be a walk in the park? No! But it will be appropriate to age, size and experience level. We want to put stock in the pen that gives our contestants every opportunity to be successful. We believe that this is the best place and time for our future stars to get it right. We believe that no step should be left out. This is not to say that any of our contestants cannot ride up at a higher level. Anyone that feels that they are capable of riding up in another age group is more that welcome to do so.

More To Come Soon
